Canadians sometimes forget the grim and glorious role that their soldiers, sailors and aircrews have played in the world. They think of them as peacekeepers, not warriors. But they were warriors first. Of course, Canadians have played a vital role as peacekeepers too. They have shown that it takes a soldier's discipline, courage, and presence of mind to stand between warring armies. Canada's military men and women are among the best in the world. They are skillful, resourceful, determined, loyal, and willing to die for what they believe in. We should never forget how much they are owed.
